The tenth edition of the international defence exhibition brings a novelty: in addition to defence technology, it is also expanded of the topics of internal security and fire protection which is reflected in the title “IDEB Defence & Security”. In order to raise awareness of the need for external and internal security, from the bi-annual interval of holding the exhibition, it switched to a one-year interval with the theme “Protecting Slovakia – Protecting Europe”.

The newest defence and security technologies and equipment will be concentrated in the Incheba Expo Bratislava from Tuesday, October 3 to Thursday, October 5. During the 10th edition, representatives of the defence and security industry from 17 countries will present themselves in Bratislava: Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Israel, South Korea, Hungary, Germany, Norway, the United States of America, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Ukraine and Great Britain. The opening ceremony on October 3 at 10:00 a.m. with the participation of the highest state representatives and 16 foreign delegations will be started by a low flyover of C-27J Spartan aircraft over the exhibition and congress center (due to weather conditions).

The portfolio of almost 100 exhibitors includes military technologies and aircraft, weapons and ammunition, artillery systems, communication and monitoring systems, shelter air-condition and equipment for armer forces as well as fire and rescue corps.

The KONŠTRUKTA – Defence company will present its new technology – the 155 mm SpGH BIA Project which is a continuation of the 155 mm SpGH ZUZANA 2 and 155 mm SpGH EVA product development line. It has recenty been introduced in London and the Slovak public can see it close for the first time.

AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE will explain the advantages of the L-39NG aircraft, which, in addition to pilot training, is also suitable for light combat and reconnaissance missions. EVPÚ and EVPÚ Defence companies bring systems designed for monitoring the surroundings, detecting targets and protecting objects from observation. The innovative remote-controlled weapon system TURRA 30 is used primarily as part of the combat superstructure of infantry vehicles intended for the performance of combat and special tasks. Airvolute company will show the Discovery Stiborg autonomous drone, which is equipped with artificial intelligence and can perform autonomous missions without human pilot. Rescue Trailer company will present innovative logistics solutions (especially folding trailers for the transport of people and materials) for the armed, as well as fire and rescue services.

The professional guarantor of the defence and security exhibition is the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic, thanks to which the public can become more familiar with the activities of its sections and the technology used by the Slovak Armed Forces. The Ministry will exhibit, among others, the remotely controlled BOŽENA 5 self-propelled demining machine, UH-60M helicopter, LEOPARD 2A4 tank or ZUZANA 2 self-propelled artillery system. The resort’s activities will be also presented by the dynamic demonstrations of a mechanized squad using arms, imitation ammunition, all-terrain vehicles and trucks. Cadets of the Armed Forces Academy of General M.R. Stefanik will demonstrate examples of close combat.

For the first time, the IDEB Defence & Security is being held under the auspices from the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic. Thanks to the auspice it was possible to create the most comprehensive platform for the presentation of the topics of defence and internal security topics.

In addition, the Ministry of the Interior will present itself in a booth through which it will present the service activities of selected units of the Police Forces. The public will have a chance to know a drone, a speedometer, equipment of a special units, diving equipment, forensic technique for securing traces with the possibility of practical application, a service motorcycle and a vehicle used in securing traces. Members of the Department of Cynology and Hippology of the Presidium of the Police Forces will demonstrate the tactics of service intervention and obedience.

The IDEB Defence & Security exhibition provides not only a complex offer of production of defence and security production and services but also an important professional programme including a conference named “Current & Emerging Trends in the Field of Artillery in the EU”. The participation is possible for invited professional public guests.

The full entrance fee brought at the cash desk is 20 EUR (15 EUR in online pre-sale) and allows visitors to visit the entire fair including the interior (children and youth under the age of 15 are not allowed to enter the halls for safety reasons). Visitors who are only interested in dynamic demonstrations and a sightseeing the technology outdoors can purchase a discounted ticket (3 EUR). The discounted ticket is only on sale on Wednesday, October 4 and on Thursday, October 5, both days from 1 P.M.
