Presentation of the newest culinary trends, food, coffee and wine from all over the world; demonstrations of culinary and pastry skills of both professionals and amateurs, offer of equipment for gastronomy facilities, restaurants and hotels – all this and much more will be presented from 26th to 29th January at the prestigious gastronomy fair Danubius Gastro. The already 24th edition of the event will be accompanied by 17th exhibition of machines and technologies for shops Exposhop and 16th exhibition of packing materials and packaging technology Gastropack. This edition of Danubius Gastro is the biggest one since 2009 indicating the ever growing interest in the gastronomy area.
In its 24 year-long history, the Danubius Gastro fair has established itself as a significant event in its segment not only within national scale but also within Central European region. At the same time it is the only gastronomy fair in region with a positive development, this year scoring recovery in the area of gastronomy technology and increase of exhibitors from the area of technologies and equipment for hotels, restaurant and coffee shops. For trade visitors and professionals the fair will offer professional solutions for the business sector of hotels, restaurants, pensions, coffee shops and vending, with modern technologies for food industry as well. The wide public can explore new food, combination of tastes and culinary methods.
The main partner of the Danubius Gastro fair is, just like for previous two editions, the company Kaufland Slovakia. Its exhibition stand will show all visitors the private brand of food K-Classic that was chosen by customers as the most trusted own brand in Slovakia.
Presentation of technologies and food products will be supplemented with attractive accompanying programme that covers all gastronomy areas. Traditions will be presented via 11th edition of the competition For the Best Bratislava Roll that is being prepared by the Guild of Bakers and Confectioners from the Western Slovakia Region and Slovak Council of Bakers. Competition for the best piece of art from dough will be running as well, this time on topic “Environment I Live in” and product made of Linz path. The exhibition stand METRO Cash & Carry will host the 5th METRO HoReCa Pentathlon of the junior competition of vocational schools and hotel academies students in individual skills and team preparation of menu. The show of food and confectionery Poetry in Gastronomy will be a truly inspirational showcase of culinary and pastry skills. Visitors can also look forward to live competition in cooking, Danubius Gastro Cup 2017 in categories confectioner junior and confectioner senior. Young baristas from vocational schools from all over Slovakia will show their skills in coffee preparation in the competition Slovak Barista Cup that will take place in the Coffee Town in hall B0. Within the town visitors can get to know various kinds of coffee and its preparation at home environment (French press, Aeropress, Chemex, Džezva); they can also become professional baristas themselves for a while during the prepared workshop for public. Bartenders will show their master skills in the 3rd edition of the competition Master Cup 77. The best world baristas will spill the beans about the secret of mixed drinks during exhibition presentation of drinks mixed in world-known bars and restaurants. The fair will also witness awarding of the prestigious Danubius Gastro Awards to the best exhibits chosen by professional jury. Visitors can get to know more about culinary atmosphere of three countries – Slovakia, Italy and Cuba – accompanied by dancers and musicians from various corners of the world.
The Danubius Gastro fair is open from 26th to 29th January 2017. The first day and second day till 13:00h (1pm) is reserved for professional public. Every ticket is also a lottery ticket for valuable prizes – sightseeing in China for two persons from CK ESO, exclusive trip to Sri Lanka for two persons from CK BUBO and 10 vouchers worth 1,000€ in total for shopping in Kaufland store chain.
