Unique collectibles and new stamps

Post stamps, old coins, small antiques, postcards, phone cards, medals, minerals and many other curiosities – all of this will be offered by Bratislava Collectors Days in Incheba from 6th to 7th June 2014. The area of 4200 m2 will present exhibits from 190 exhibitors of 20 countries including Lebanon. For the first ever, the collectors fair will introduce the Deutsche Post that, besides the various exhibits for sale, will also bring a stamp manufactured specially for this occasion.

Amongst these years´ collectors pieces will be once again rare exhibits and rarities. One of them will the most precious Czechoslovak coin – 5 cent coin from 1924, that will be available for auction. Last time a Czech candidate offered 500 000 crowns; now the opening bid is set at 10.000 Euro. The offer will also include almost all rare Czechoslovak coins from 1918 to 1993.

The Bratislava Collectors Days will also introduce the collector Vojtech Jankovič with his remarkable collection called “My Life as a Bicycle”. This thematic exhibit is dedicated to bicycle, its history, development and evolution, manufacture and various forms of its use. Besides using a very rare philatelist material (post stamps, envelopes, stamps and others) this exhibit is unique also thanks to its thematic processing that reminds a stamp-illustrated encyclopaedia. This exhibit is regularly receiving gold medals on the world’s most important philatelic exhibitions.

Slovak Post will introduce new stamps within the series of “Medical Plants”, whose main motive will be dandelion. Visitors can look forward to introduction of a new stamp EUROPE 2014 whose motives are “National Musical Instruments”. The stamp carries a depicted Slovak folk instrument – a three-voice bagpipes. The presentation of the stamp will be accompanied by performance of Vrbovské vŕby band.

Bratislava Collectors Days will be enhanced by an interesting accompanying programme. Professionals and experts from the Union of Slovak Philatelists will evaluate for free any stamp collections. During both days, production of stamps with personalized coupon will be available, where everyone will be free to choose own photography or picture for the coupon. Children Post for the littlest ones has prepared an opportunity to say hello to friends or family via postcard with picture personally engraved into the prepared plates of linoleum and stamped on the postcard.

The exhibition will also remind the visitors of the XXII. Winter Olympics in Sochi atmosphere. The Slovak Society of Olympic and Sports Collectors has prepared a sample of national Olympic clothing of our sportsmen on the Olympics.
