On Thursday 12th May 2016 Incheba witnessed the last day of the course of international defence exhibition IDEB. The event was held in the spirit of modernization of military, police and intelligence units, responding to the current security situation and upcoming Slovak presidency of the Council of the European Union. The total area of 24 000 m2 presented 152 exhibitors from 20 countries. The exhibition was visited by 22 716 people interested in military technology.
IDEB was ceremonially opened in the presence of the Minister of Defence of Slovak Republic Peter Gajdoš and other important guests. It created a place ideal for presentation of defence industry products, varying from armoured vehicles, tanks, explosives detectors, combat and reconnaissance vehicles, armoured trucks and howitzers as well as small arms, ammunition, the latest communication and IT resources, mobile containers, flight simulators, shooting areas, soldier outfits and equipment and other military and police material.
Emphasis was also put on national defence production. The company Kerametal introduced a modernized armoured vehicle ALIGATOR 4x4 MASTER II. Group of companies DMD Group showcased the lightweight mobile EVA howitzer and tracked version of artillery techniques DIANA.
Presentation of products was enhanced by thematic accompanying programme within which the 6th International Scientific Conference on Military and Special Technologies took place. During all three days of the course of the fair many dynamic demonstrations took place, executed by members of Military Police - detention of a perpetrator by service dog, setting a trap, self-defence and escorting and protection of VIP people in conflicted area. Visitors could also meet successful military athletes Anastasia Kuzminova, Matej Tóth and Adam Žampa.
After evaluation by expert commission the best exhibits registered for competition were awarded the Prix IDEB and Grand Prix IDEB 2016. All results can be found at www.incheba.sk.
