From 3rd to 21st December 2014 the Incheba Bratislava will turn into fairytale Christmas markets in a cosy, warm interior. The Christmas Days will provide enchanting atmosphere, tips for presents for the whole family and the best pre-Christmas programme. The already 25th Christmas Days will be accompanied by a unique exhibition of Bethlehem scenes – for the first time ever in Slovakia, one roof will cover more than 800 exquisite pieces.
The Bethlehem scenes were created by the artist Jozef Práznovský from Žilina, who takes manufacturing Bethlehem scenes as his lifetime hobby. Jozef Práznovský holds two certificates of Slovak Book of Records – one certificate for the biggest amount of exhibited Bethlehem nativity scenes from single author and the other for the smallest Bethlehem scene made with measurements 6x6mm. It is wedged into acinus of allspice; figurines are carved into rice. Bethlehem scenes made on top of a match, in bread, poppy head, acorn cap, seashell, grape berry, allspice, piglets’ hoof and of many other untraditional materials will surely be a true eye-candy.
The Christmas Days will offer all visitors a variety of traditional Christmas decorations, toys, books, leather goods, fur, clothing, cosmetics, jewellery and costume jewellery, electronics, fireworks or interior accessories and much more from 300 vendors. The markets are specific because of its range of goods being mostly of different types than offerings in shopping malls. The chance of surprising your dearest ones with untraditional present is undeniably higher!
Fans of traditional crafts will surely enjoy the craftsmanship exhibited by artists from the Association of Historical Craft Guilds. Candles from beeswax, wooden and straw Christmas decorations, enamel jewellery and much more will show the skill of their masters and create the true atmosphere of the upcoming holidays. Samples of traditional crafts are a must-be of the exhibition, educating the visitors on the past times.
The Christmas atmosphere will be secured by amazing accompanying programme tailor-made for every age category. Wednesdays will belong to fans of the legendary Repete music show. Gizka Oňová, who is not only an excellent singer but also a super-b cook will enhance these days with her music hits and Christmas specialties cooking. On Wednesday 3rd December she will cook bean soup; later you can look forward to fish soup and finally to traditional sauerkraut soup. Thursdays will be dedicated to parents with children that can bake their own gingerbread in the gingerbread cottage with the Jaga hag!
The first weekend, 6th to 7th December, will witness opening of the gates of the HRAtislava games festival. Visitors will be free to play any one of the more than thousand of games from all over the world and get to know new and interesting games they have never seen before. Trained personnel will help with choosing the right one, also ready to instruct on the rules of each game.
