Lovers of good food, wine and coffee will be soon delighted by the prestigious international fair of gastronomy Danubius Gastro. From 29th January to 1st February the Incheba Expo premises will be full of gastronomic trends, new and exotic food, traditional dishes, culinary, bakery and confectionary practices as well as equipment for restaurants, gastronomic facilities and hotels. The Danubius Gastro fair will be accompanied by the 15th exhibition of equipment and technologies for shops Exposhop and the 14th exhibition of packing materials and machines Gastropack.
During its 22-years long course, the Danubius Gastro fair escalated into the most important food-gastronomic events in Slovakia and continues in its positive development. Compared to the previous year, the 2015 Danubius Gastro fair recorded an increase in number of exhibitors and exhibition area and reached the highest parameters since the crisis in 2008 – 2009.
Just like last year the fair will again represent a huge amount of wine-makers, coffee exhibitors and broad range of food from the whole world. Professional visitors can specially appreciate halls A0, A1 and D2 where they can become familiar with technology news for hotels, restaurants, guesthouses, cafes and vending. Progressive solutions for food industry, bakeries, shops and packing are not missing either.
The current year of Danubius Gastro brings an interesting novelty. The main partner of the fair will be Kaufland Slovak Republic whose main goal will be promotion of Slovak food. For all visitors Kaufland has prepared an unusual form of presentation – stores that will offer exclusively Slovak products for very favourable prices. At the same time it will promote its new communication campaign “For the Love of Slovakia”. Its aim is to support Slovak products and demonstrate that Kaufland is a strong brand that is responsible for their employees and for sustainable economic development of Slovak Republic and society.
The Danubius Gastro fair will bring a great opportunity for visitors to taste both traditional and untraditional specialties and check out the moves and tricks of professional cooks. The exhibition premises will traditionally smell of delicious Bratislava Rolls. Contestants will compete over who can bake the best one that meets the strict criteria. Bratislava Rolls cooking course will educate visitors about the traditional methods of preparation of this delicacy. This year everyone interested will have an opportunity to challenge others in new categories “Valentine”, “Mother´s Day” and “Bratislava Castle”. The exhibition of food and confectionery products, the Poetry of Gastronomy, is an exquisite presentation of cooking and pastry skills that will present competing exhibits of hotels, restaurants, schools and individuals from the whole Slovakia.
Danubius Gastro will delight everyone that wants to get better at cooking and preparing meals. Cooking demonstrations with tasting is prepared for visitors by the Slovak Association of Cooks and Confectioners. The third annual competition METRO Cook Pentathlon will test the cooking skills of students from vocational schools and hotel academies. Live cooking competition will be brought also by the Danubius Gastro Cup 2015. On Sunday morning visitors can look forward to live show of professional cook Vojtech Artz.
Besides the traditional tastes Danubius Gastro will also take you closer to exotics. The World of Greengrocers accompanied by musicians and dancers from all corners of the world will lead the visitors through culinary atmosphere of six countries including Alaska or China. Explosion of colours and flavours will be brought also during the bartenders competitions. The true eye candy will surely be the International Flair Bartending Championship or competition in drink stirring Double Cross World Class Cosmopolitan. Coffee lovers will also enjoy themselves – the wonderful scent of coffee will be distributed throughout the exhibition place thanks to Slovak Championship BARISTA 2015.
The accompanying programme contains presentations and discussions with professionals as well. “Trends in Liquors in Europe”, “Building a Brand and Consumer Behaviour in USA”, “Eastern Europe Dictates the Trends in Alcohol Consumption” – such are the topics that well respected foreign guests will be talking about. The programme will be amended by discussion with members of Slovak National Team of Cooks and Confectioners that represented Slovak gastronomy at the world culinary championship Culinary World Cup Expogast 2014 in Luxemburg.
The Danubius Gastro fair is open from 29th January to 1st February 2015. On the first day and second day till 1pm it is reserved for professional public.
