During past days the exhibition grounds of Incheba hosted prestigious fairs of tourism and gastronomy ITF Slovakiatour and Danubius Gastro that brought rich programme and lots of experience. From 26th to 29th January the fairs were visited by 69 386 people, a number proving the popularity of the fair and increasing interest of people in travelling and gastronomy areas. The fairs were accompanied by specialized exhibitions Hunting and Leisure, Wellness and Fitness; exhibition of packing materials and machines Gastropack and exhibition of machines and technologies for shops Exposhop. The total area of 36 000 m² presented 741 exhibitors from 25 countries.
The already 24th edition of the Danubius Gastro fair scored recovery in the area of gastronomy technology and increase of exhibitors from the area of technologies and equipment for hotels, restaurant and coffee shops. For trade visitors and professionals the fair offered professional solutions for the business sector of hotels, restaurants, pensions, coffee shops and vending. The wide public could explore new food from the whole world as well as culinary, bakery confectionery, bartending and barista exhibitions and competitions. The main partner of the fair was the company Kaufland Slovakia that introduced its own private brand of food and products. The fair also witnessed awarding of Danubius Gastro prizes to exhibits that stood out due to its quality and processing. At the same time we announced products that gained the label Mark of Quality SK and Mark of Quality SK Gold.
The ITF Slovakiatour fair, taking place already for 23rd time, provided visitors with complex traveling service. All fans of travelling could learn about attractive tourist destinations and possibilities of accommodation, transport and food. The fair presented travel agencies, tour operators, delegates and representations of states, countries, regions, towns and municipalities including tourism organizations. The fair witnessed announcement of Tourism Personalities of 2016, namely Juraj Urban Sr. (in memoriam), Ján Ďurovčík and Sylvia Maliariková. They were awarded due to their significant contributions to the development of domestic tourism.
The novelty of this year’s fair were two partner regions – national one being the Košice Region and foreign one being the Moravian-Silesian Region, presenting to visitors tourist attractions and places worth visiting. Slovakia was presented at the fair in full amount, especially highlighted by the presentation of spa sector.
