Danubius Gastro is the most important gastronomy fair in Slovakia and during 23 years of existence it has developed into one of the most critical events in its segment not only at home but also within Central Europe. The fair has once again confirmed the growing trend of number of exhibitors and exhibition area, reaching increase over the last year – which was in fact the biggest one since the crisis in 2008-2009. Danubius Gastro is a meeting place for people with professional interest in gastronomy and wide public that searches for inspiration and tips for interesting food. Trade visitors can become familiar with technology novelties for the area of hotels, restaurants, guest houses, coffee shops and vending. Represented are also progressive solutions for food industry, bakeries, shops and packing.
The main partner of the Danubius Gastro fair is once again – thanks to the huge success of last year – the very Kaufland Slovak Republic. Presenting itself as a company fully aware of responsibility towards its environment, Kaufland, in the spirit of its campaign “For the Love of Slovakia” (support of Slovak producers is one of its main parts), is aware that love for Slovakia also means responsibility. As one of the retail key players in Slovakia it puts particular emphasis on protection of environment and responsible product range selection. In its large stand it also wants to focus on presentation of high quality food with the label Mark of Quality SK that is irreplaceable within its trade network.
Coffee and wine from all over the world are heavily presented at the fair; the Coffee Town is a novelty where students and professional baristas from all corners of Slovakia will compete during competitions such as Slovak Barista Cup Junior 2016 and Latte Art Show Incheba. On the first day of the fair visitors can learn how to make coffee properly – with professionals providing valuable advice at hand.
Yearly cooking and baking exhibitions have always been very popular – For the Best Bratislava Roll, For the Best Knitted Product or The Best and Most Delicious Bread of 2016 – these are just some of the many competitions that will make Incheba taste and smell like heaven. Saturday morning will offer the visitors a Baking Show with baking healthy cakes or gingerbread from Slovak honey.
The art of cooking will be demonstrated by preparation of food by chefs and members of Slovak National Chefs and Confectioners Team combined with tasting. Danubius Gastro Cup 2016 will bring a competition in cooking, and students of vocational schools and hotel academies will show their skills in front of visitors during the 4th annual METRO Cook´s Pentathlon competition. One of the visually most attractive event is surely the show full of culinary and confectionary art Poetry in Gastronomy, where competing exhibits of hotels, restaurants, confectioneries and vocational schools from the whole Slovakia will be presented. Visitors will be given chance to become acquainted with culinary atmosphere of Slovakia, Italy and Cuba, all accompanied by musicians and dancers from the whole world.
